1. Introduction
a) Personal RosettaStone (also the 'site', 'Service', 'Objecs') is owned and operated by Objecs LLC. This Privacy Statement (the 'Statement') describes Objecs philosophy on user privacy, what data we collect, how we use it and how we safeguard such information.
2. Our Philosophy
a) Objecs is a privacy-conscience company as well as the author of two freely available Internet privacy concepts for e-commerce web sites: 'Conservative Collection Strong Protection'(CCSP) model and 'Narrow Margin' practice.
(b) The 'Conservative Collection Strong Protection' model is based on the premise that e-commerce sites collect the minimal amount of personal information needed for the transaction at hand (or declared) and what information is collected be strongly protected.
(c) The 'Narrow Margin' practice dictates that the margin of use or deviation from the original intent and purpose for such collected data be narrow in scope and clearly defined in the site privacy policy. The remainder of this document outlines our interpretation and application of these key concepts.
3. Collection of User Data
a) Financial transactions initiated on this Web store require the collection of personal information as defined by various financial institutions and or payment processors to successfully process orders. With respect to the CCSP model above, we collect only the data that we either need or are likely to need for the successful completion of an online purchase transaction. That information includes:
Name
Shipping/Billing Address
Email address
Phone number
Credit/Debit Card Information
Product specifications that are specific to your order
As well as other potential supporting detail that may be outlined in 'a' below.
b) We use member contact information, such as name and email to communicate with customers on such things as: order options, order handling, special requests, the status of an account, pending expiration dates, policy changes, to provide customer access to our systems and services, all with the goal of providing an improved user experience and quality of service.
4. Physical Security
a) The minimal customer data that we may physically store, is secure to a high standard and thoroughly deleted and or disposed of at the earliest opportunity in accordance with our transactional record management policy. Our data protection practices allow limited administrative access to any encrypted data stores that we may store. Our PII Standard Operational Policy (SOP) does not allow for the transportation of digital customer data (i.e. laptop, external data drives) in non-encrypted form.
b) Objecs is a PCI compliant company as certified by Security Metrics.
5. Access to Personal Identifiable Information
a) Site users may access, change preferences and or correct all personal identifiable information that we maintain through your normal online account access or by contacting customer support. In order to better protect our users, direct contact may require a time delay resulting from the reasonable steps we take to verify customer identity prior to granting access to such data.
